CAVA COMMITTEES
The CAVA Committees exist to meet ongoing needs of vocation ministry, namely, that of education and raising awareness. The committees are composed of members of CAVA who have an interest in the work of the committee and a desire to assist with its planning and outreach. There is no set maximum number of participants; any CAVA member is welcome. Ordinarily, the committees meet several times a year. The standing committees of CAVA are:
1. Advertising & Webpage Committee
This is a new committee for CAVA.  The purpose of the Advertising and Webpage Committee is to coordinate marketing efforts and to update and monitor the website www.vocationscava.org   While the organizational meeting of this group will be face-to-face, much of the work will be completed virtually, either via phone or email.

2. Campus Ministry/Young Adult Committee

This committee plans vocation awareness programs on college campuses including Busy Persons’ Retreats, prayer workshops, etc.  It also plans programs, days of reflection for young adults who are beyond college.  The group has worked on Discernment Evenings, Nun Runs, and Come & Discover Days.  It meets four times per year as a whole committee and has subcommittees that meet as needed for various projects.

4. Education Committee

This committee offers programs in elementary schools, high schools, and religious education programs.  These could be classroom presentations, panels, roundtable discussions, vocation fairs, parent presentations, retreats for faculties or in-services about vocations for faculties/teachers, or catechists.  This is a good committee for those who may be part time, are free for part of the day or in the evening or on weekends for religious education classes.  This group meets at least four times per year as a whole, and then in subcommittees.  We ask that each member on this committee expect to commit to at least two school presentations during the coming year.

5. Parish Vocation Awareness Committee

This committee helps facilitate vocation promotion at the parish level.  It includes providing speakers for vocation days, planning vocation fairs for a parish or parishes together, in-services for establishing vocation awareness committees on the parish level, and inviting religious to speak at parish liturgies and to parish groups. We also want to keep in contact with parish committees.  This committee meets at least four times per year.
