For 1st-5th Grades Individual Classroom Visits: A Vocation Minister goes to each classroom for a presentation. The talk begins with general vocation awareness & call flowing from our Baptism. The presenter then shares her/his own vocation story and some interesting insights into the daily life of a religious sister, brother or priest. We have discovered that our being present in a classroom is often the first time, or a rare time the students have ever seen a Religious Sister/Brother. Depending on the grade level a presentation can be from 15-45 minutes including questions from the students. Presenters can be available for a whole day/evening or just for as long as you need them to cover all of your classes.
For 6th –12th Grades Panel Presentation: Students are usually gathered in a large group. 3-4 Vocation Ministers sit together and take turns explaining about their charism (particular gift of the Holy Spirit for the Church)) and sharing their vocation story. Then students are free to ask questions. This is a delightful experience with the 6th-8th graders and high schoolers. It is usually about an hour long.
Round Table Discussions: 3-4 Vocation Ministers spread out to one table each in the room. The class divides up and several students sit at each table. The Vocation Director shares his/her vocation story, charism, etc. Once the time is up for the first session, students move to another table. How many sessions are in a time period depends on how long the class period lasts. It is up to the team of presenters to determine with the teacher how long each table talk will last (10 minutes or so). This too is a delightful experience with 6th-8th graders and high schoolers. The whole event usually lasts an hour with as many as four-five table switches.

For High Schools The fair consists of various religious congregations coming to the school/parish to display information about their particular way of religious life as a religious sister, brother or priest.
The school provides a large area for gathering i.e. vestibule, breezeway, chapel etc. with individual tables for each participating religious congregation to have a display. The fair takes place during the class period. Students are invited to interact with the Vocation Ministers at their displays as they discover more about religious life with its varied charisms and ministries in the Church. Displays often include free materials e.g. prayer cards, booklets, and other “fun” pieces, such as pens, Frisbees etc. which have the religious congregation’s logo and website information.
The school provides: √ Large gathering space √ A table & chair for each display √ Time schedule for the classes √ Students eager to learn more about who the Religious Sisters, Brothers and Priests are in the diocese.
CAVA provides: √ Vocation Ministers present with unbridled enthusiasm √ Materials at the displays √ Opportunity for students to meet and interact with Religious Sisters, Brothers and Priests

For Teachers & Staff
Called to Holiness (CTH): A one hour program in a retreat style format. CTH as suggested by its title has the goal to give a further understanding of how we continue to live out our call to holiness in the vocation we have said “Yes”, to in our lives. Renewing Your Call (RYC): This is about a two-hour program. This is a program for teachers & staff. In a workshop/retreat style format teachers are engaged in deepening their understanding of their own vocations and about how they can bring vocation awareness into the classroom.
For Parents Homemade Vocations: A program for parents, it lasts about an hour. The goal is to offer suggestions as to how vocation awareness can be fostered in the home. Contents of the program include: sharing prayer resources to be used at home, sharing ideas for monthly projects that teach children how to be generous, unselfish and altruistic, teaching creative practices that can become tradition in the home, etc. The program is about an hour.
For the Whole Parish Vocation Fairs: The fair consists of various religious congregations coming to the school/parish to display information about their particular way of religious life as a religious sister, brother or priest. The Vocation Fair works well when held on a “Doughnut Sunday”, “Pancake Breakfast Sunday”, etc.
The parish provides a large area for gathering i.e. vestibule, breezeway etc. with individual tables for each participating religious congregation to have a display. The fair runs after each mass, with the parish choosing to include Saturday’s vigil mass or not. Parishioners are invited to interact with the Vocation Ministers at their displays as they discover more about religious life with its varied charisms and ministries in the Church. Displays often include free materials e.g. prayer cards, booklets, and other “fun” pieces, such as pens, Frisbees etc. which have the religious congregation’s logo and website information.
